I've noticed most recipes for muscadine call for acid testing. Is the #5400 acid test kit Geo. sells good enough for the required testing?

That's what I have and it is pretty easy.
Did you order acid blend as well as the test kit. For some other fruits (blueberry for instance) you're probably going to need it.

I've made a couple of apple based wines also, and had to add acid blend.

Peter,

I have the acid blend (needed it for the Cherry batch that's 'cooking'). I did a blueberry (on 2nd racking) & the recipe never mentioned acid testing. Oh well!

Most recipes dont mention acid testing. You have to keep in mind that the levels of acid in fruits will vary from year to year, tree/bush, or berry to berry. The acid amounts that most recipes call for usually will be close but it's a good idea to double check.
