If you use vodka in your airlocks, make sure you keep your eye on them - the alcohol will evaporate much faster than water would..

A pinch of K-meta in some water, to do a dozen or more airlocks, would work better. I'd rather have a little K-meta'd water sucked into my wine, than have the vodka evaporate and oxidize my wine.

My dog is not a big shedder..but even so, when press squeezing fruit in the bag over several days I cannot imagine hair NOT getting in...dogs or from the arms sttached to the hands doing the pressing. I am counting on the siphoning during racking and settling to take care of it and the alcohol to purify the added vitamin source ;-)
