    Is my yeast ok to use ?

    I purchased 10 - Lavlin yeast packages several months ago. I forgot about them and left in the envelope in my room. It says to refrigerate . Has 2017 expiration date. I'm in desperate need to use one and don't have anymore.

    The same guy just gave me a gallon of juice that he steamed from the elderberry. Should I add water to it to make wine ?

    My muscadine did the same thing. I'm think it's from when I squeezed the must bag too much.

    I don't like the runny part. It tastes real good and don't want to waste it. The color is a very deep purple and it's just a pint and will probably not make much of a difference but it's better than wasting

    Still on the fence about the presser. I thought I was squeezing the pulp bag too much and getting to much sediment . Maybe that's just part of it. I am excited about the crusher though, now maybe My hands will not itch and burn all night long.

    A friend gave me a pint of elderberry jelly (looks more like syrup). I will not eat it so I was wondering if I could use it in my muscadine wine ? I'm sure they used pectin to make it. So I was wondering if it would be ok.

    i think the press is too much of a cost for me right now and the crusher is more of what I want. I wish I could afford both. I currently crush my muscadines by hand and the acid gives me a bad reaction so I have to wear gloves. Which is a pain in the behind.

    I added the campden and maybe it will kill any yeast left over. It was at 1.01 when I racked and the airlock did not bubble anymore after the second racking.

    Yes used enzyme first then the yeast. I'm thinking it's just gonna take time. It's not pulp just cloudy .

    I was ready to bottle because the recipie said to wait 6 weeks. I hope adding the campden didn't hurt it since I decided to wait
