    here we go

Well its now been four months since i started this. I racked it last night and gave it a taste. The bitterness from the orange mellowed way down but next time will use much less clove. I will probably drink it in about two months. Cheers.

Need to Move the Deer Crossing Signs!

I listened to this a few days ago. All I could do was shake my head in disbelief. Even now thinking of how stupid this person is makes my head hurt with all the questions it raises in my mind.

So CO2 production dropped sharply today and tested tonight and got .992. After only five days reached the end of fermentation. Any hunters here?

Just making a friendly definition correction. A crap storm would be a non hunter coming to a hunting thread and telling us all how evil we are.

    Any hunters here?

Well, unless those thousands of animals just happen to cross your path and you were not actively seeking them, you were hunting. You may not be hunting for sport but you are hunting for sustenance. I'm 33 and have hunted most of my life and never to take a trophy home. Only to take meat home to...

Primary Fermentation, lid on or not?

In primary yeast needs lots of oxygen, and also to allow large amounts of CO2 to escape. When fermentation slows then its racked to a secondary and air locked to keep bacteria out while it finishes.
