    wine warmer?

Ambient temperature in the rest of the house isn't always that much warmer than the basement, this time of year. I guess I left that important fact out... We usually keep it no warmer than 60 degrees, dial it back to 50 or 52 when we're not home or when we're asleep.

    wine warmer?

Hello folks, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with a commercial wine warmer. My basement is about 50-55 degrees, and I'd likesomething to bring my reds up to temp for serving. I read a couple poor reviews of the Waring Prop RPC175 Chiller/Warmer, but the complaints all had to do...

    Am I doomed: Fruit Fly

One evening I was drinking a glass of white wine - I don't remember what it was but nothing remarkable. From one sip to the next, I suddenly noticed a markedly different aroma, and the wine seemed to taste a little bit better. I looked into my glass and there was a fruit fly! So maybe it will...

Mosti Mondiale Alljuice Sangiovese - add tannin?

Oh, you guys are awesome. I don't have an open-neck secondary so I'll just ferment to dry in the primary, and then rack and add the oak. Thanks so much!

Mosti Mondiale Alljuice Sangiovese - add tannin?

Al, I was a little surprised too, but I've only ever made low-end kits before., so I thought nothing of it.Here's a link to the instructions. http://mostimondiale.com/InstructionsLaBodegaOAJMEAJMEG.pdf It's step 7.

Mosti Mondiale Alljuice Sangiovese - add tannin?

Thanks, PA. I started the kit yesterday with no adjustments. The only adjustment I'm planning is to rack to secondary at 1.01 rather than 1.04-1.05, asI don't want a volcano. Instructions call for adding yeast nutrient and the oak chips at the time that I transfer - I was going to add...

Mosti Mondiale Alljuice Sangiovese - add tannin?

Thanks, gentlemen! I had no idea that I could wait and add the tannin on the back-end. I suppose I'll just make this one as-is. Plan on starting it today!

Mosti Mondiale Alljuice Sangiovese - add tannin?

I'm looking online at the Mosti Mondiale website, preparing to start my Alljuice Sangiovese, and I found this paragraph: Some home winemakers like their wine will enough but when they compare it to an equivalent ready-made purchase in a wine store, they're a little disappointed. This usually...

Mosti Mondiale anyone tried the Alljuice Sangiovese?

I feel like I'm ready to try my hand at a higher-end kit, and I see George has the MM Alljuice Sangiovese on special this month. Has anyone made this kit? Sangiovese isn't one of my "usual" varietals but I had one recently that was just incredible. Thought this might be worth a shot. Thoughts?
