    I just tried my wine made last fall and there is something in the bottom of the bottles. Looks like sediment and something growing. Is this ok? I did all the steps to sanitize, etc. What is it and is the wine ok to drink?

    About 3 weeks ago. And added fining stuff last week. Ready to bottle,but think I'd like to sweeten it a bit more. I meant campden & sorbate. Thanks.

    Well, I guess I dont "get it" yet. Irack, add campden (2 tablets for 3 gallons), degass, backsweeten and let bulk age. What is this about adding K-meta?? Thought that was a sanitizer.     I ordered a fining agent as you suggest, altho it looks really clear. I looked for K-meta, for sanitizer but could not find it on this website, what do you suggest for a subsitute?     Hi Wade, I've racked my wine 2 times and this week I will rack, degass and add some grape juice to sweeten slightly. I will add 1 1/2 campden tablets (3 gallons of wine), how much sorbate do I add? Then I will let it bulk age for a month and bottle. Sound ok? Newbie

    I have been using Easy-clean for sanitizing. Just mixed up a gallon of potasiumbisulfate..confused. I have no terrible odor that others talk of, please explain sanitizing for me. Thanks.

    HI, thanks for the info..it is a 3 gallon batch and I mean room temperature to finish the resting. Should I put it in a cooler place?Also, I just learned about degassing, which was not mentioned in my recipe or on some "how to;s". Is this necessary, or can I just let the batch rest for awhile...
