after adding the f-pack the wine is now much less brown than it was. when i shine a spotlight through it the light coming out the other side is definitely ruby colored.
is there any difference between aging in the bottles and aging in the carboy? the instructions said to let it age for 3...
How many gallons are you allowed to make per year? I know with beer it's 100 gallons in a single adult home and up to 200 gallons in a 2+ adult home. What is it with wine? And do I have to add the amount of beer I make with the amount of wine I make, or is that seperate?
wow you guys are serious! I guess I'm so used to brewing beer...it's usually ready to bottle or keg in less than a month...I have 2 carboys and 3 buckets and I have trouble keeping them filled.
LBC is awesome. I have heard a lot about Bubbs (I think it might be Bube's), but I have never made it out there, little bit of a trip for me. I also enjoy going to Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg...and the Troeg's Brothers, also from Harrisburg make a fine brew.
It doesn't taste bad...not as sweet as White Zinfandel usually is but I haven't added the F-pack yet or the finings, stabilizers etc. The "carbonation" kind of threw me off since it's still fermenting. I think it's getting nearly done fermenting so I'll give it another taste when I check the...
I started making beer because I was tired of paying $30-$50 for a case of good stuff...which led me into making wine. I just wish it were legal to make whiskey :)
