    Nutrient per gallon - how much?

    I picked up the supplies to make my first mead and I'm having a hard time finding how much nutrient I need per gallon of mead I know that I divide the amount into three feedings but can somebody tell me how much nutrient I need per gallon and I'll figure out how much at each feeding? thanks bunch!

    Raisons - do they raise SG much?

    Making DBSP with 4 fruit blend and heard that raisons will increase tannin/mouth feel. I added a 1lb box of dark raisons in a fruit bag and am wondering in a 5 gallon batch if they raise SG much? The starting SG is 1.074 and I'm hoping it will raise to 1.080 or so. Thoughts?

    Fruit flies in air lock!

    Apple wine - sludge layer floating?

    My apple wine that is 100% apple was racked two days ago after fermenting dry .996 when it was first racked the fluid layer was at the top and only a few inches. Today some of the sludge is floating and the fluid layer is lower. The carboy has not been touched. Is this normal?
