Thanks for the responses. I don't believe there was any airlock activity, but it seemed to stay at the top.
I did end up topping it up to 1" below the airlock bung, it took nearly the whole bottle but I guess better safe than sorry.
I think from now on I'll just always top it up, it's not like...
Hi guys I've transferred my wine kit for the last time but have not filtered yet and I'm wondering based on the picture if it's safe to leave it for a couple of weeks before filtering and bottling. The airlock is raised so does that mean there's enough CO2 in there to keep it safe?
Hi I've been searching and couldn't find a definite answer and just wanted to be clear. Is it as simple as mixing 3 tbsp to 1 gallon of water and let that sit in bottom of the carboy with a stopper/cover? Is the citric acid that important or would I be ok with just the k-meta mixture...
I've had a new thought how about using a good quality night stand that is 25" tall, that should be tall enough to siphon from and strong enough to support 60+ lbs.

Ok thanks obviously the commercial is better but as i mentioned space is limited so anything much more than 24" wide just won't work for me.
Also wanted to add that I would more than likely have max 2 on the go at a time.
Hi, I don't have a lot of room where I'm doing my first kit (downstairs bathroom) and I was wondering if anyone uses those chrome wire shelving units and if they are safe/strong enough for full glass carboys. The one I'm looking at from Home Depot is 24(w)x30(h)x14(d) and states that it can...
Hi it's my first time making wine and it's been a week in the primary. I'm looking at the hydrometer and it looks like 0.940 to me but now that I look online I'm thinking it's really 0.994 which would make more sense since it's in the "RED" wine area. I've attached a photo and made an arrow...
