I have picked a few pounds of wild cherries and plan to steam juice them. However, I noted that Jack Keller recommended destoning them! No way! It would take forever to do that. I realize there is some concern with toxicity, but I am sceptical. Any of you used these without destoning them.

I steam juiced about 30 lbs of cherries a couple months ago without destoning. I figured that the steam would probably not be hot enough to extract any undesireables. I didn't realize there was a toxicity issue though. I hope not!

Anyone else tried this?

I have been steam juicing them...never had any issues.....

Don't know how you would destone a Chokecherry...they are all stone.

I agree, Northern, all stone! I will steam juice as planned.

I appreciate the feedback.
