Was Jim's birthday and he wanted to cook out in his 'camp'...[ being as we blew up our gas grill on my birthday cooking the 'chick-can' a couple weeks ago he had to cook on wood]

DUMP CAKE....due to much moving around, it flopped...so was like 'dump brownies' with cherries underneath..

The sweetcorn, burgers and potato salad were great...the dump cake will be tried again...another time...using a charcoal that will burn longer than wood coals and won't get touched during the baking process....and, maybe a bit of stirring and less dumping

DUMP CAKE...it was 2 cans of cherry pie filling, a box of Devil's Food cake mix and a 20 oz bottle of cherry Coke...so it had to be good...even tho it flopped, it tasted like brownies smothered in cherries [think one can would have been enough]...hope we have better luck next try....

All right! More fans of the camp dutch oven!!
Great way to cook without heating up the kitchen!

We love it, especially Jim...he watches two TV shows on Dutch Oven cooking and really got into it...works for me....except washing the dirty pots...
