Catnip Wine - I'm going for it!

Catnip is growing now and I’d love to give this a shot- do you have an approximate recipe, beyond “8 tbsp dried in a gallon”? Could it be done as a mead potentially?

    General Question about Pri.

I’d love to see the honey those bees made! There are tales of party-colored honey where the bees were visiting a candy factory…

Finer Wine Kit 1st time FWK Pinot Noir Forte- warm!

Hi all, I started my first kit (6 gal) this past Sunday, and fermentation is very vigorous- in fact I’m a bit worried sbout how warm it is getting. Its fizzing away, and current temp on the outside of the fermenter is 74F (house is 65-68). The yeast supplied is RC-212 (stated ferm temps 64-86F)...

    Apricot Mead

No, I didn’t like the way they smelled so I pitched it. Sulfurous, in a way. The clear racked portion doesn’t have that.

    Apricot Mead

I had a similar very fluffy sediment from apricot mead, 2.25 gal gave about 1.5 gal clear; the remainder I put in the fridge to see if it would settle, but it only cleared about 1/4” at the top after a week.

    REVIEW: *allinonewinepump*

I’m delighted with my new AIO! First use was racking two 1 gal apricot meads, which went super smoothly. Today I transferred and filtered a 5 gal cranberry mead, also totally uneventful and stress free! Looking forward to the bottling stage :)

    Apricot Mead from Dried Apricots

Has anyone tasted this brand? Claims to be unsulfured…. I may do a copy-cat @Raptor99 , this sounds really good!

Bulk wine bottle purchase in wisconsin

How many bottles would that come to? All 750 ml or could it be a mix with some 375s? I’d be looking for corkables, probably clear.

    Winemaking 2023 is gearing up.

You have snow in San Jose today? Looks like a pretty slime-mold!

    My first bottling

These days its WTFV instead of RTFM, with the caveat that theres a lot of garbage content on YouTube to avoid. I’ll start some new threads, for sure. And report back on my guinea pigs , er ‘families’ reactions to this first one.

Instruction book? I didn’t get that, just the device… once the cat moves off my lap I’ll check but I’m pretty sure mine has about that same amount of bend to it. WMT Gone Wild ?

Ahoy! (Here to learn the ways of mead)

Welcome aboard! I’m just starting too, just bottled my first gallon based on the JAOM (Joes Ancient Orange Mead) recipe. I have two gallons of sorglyn BOMM going (Denard Brewing), a cyser (Apple Cyser Mead Recipe - 1 Gallon - Home Cider Making) and my first 5 gallon, a plain BOMM that I would...

I noticed there is some bend in the plunger, can you post a side view of yours? And thanks to all for all the help, this is great!

    My first bottling

I literally watched that exact video before posting, but he talked about replacing the jaws, and adjusting a sideways offset. Not clear what I should do for a front/back adjustment, maybe some shims inside to move the jaws toward the back? PS I’m a Scott, is @Shurt1073 too?

    My first bottling

Here are some pics. The bottles I have, have got maybe 3mm play within the bossed area, and tend to slide away from the handle pivot side.(view from the top) The cork pusher, when all the way down, is not centered in the bossed area either- is that normal? Finally, not sure if this is the...

    My first bottling

The red Portuguese floor model, new. I’ll take another look at the bottles and at the first corks (threw them in drawer). Is it possible the corker is damaging the bottoms of the corks when it compresses them?
