How do you add body to Apfelwine?

You could try adding tannin, I've added golden raisins to wine in the past for added body. I've heard of adding banana to it as well, but I don't know if that will change the taste

I haven't had a problem with Amazon yeast. If you don't have a local source Amazon is a good source

    New vines!

An update on the vines. I tied the vines up to bamboo 2 weeks ago and now almost all have hit the bottom wire with a couple actually reaching for the 3rd wire, that's 5 feet, when I tied up I found a small bunch of grapes I missed earlier and got them pinched off. I'll try to get some pics in...

    New vines!

Their doing great. All 32 vines took off and some are 3 feet tall. I'm gonna let the strongest 3 vines produce a bunch next year to taste the grapes that will come from my soil

    Double A juice

Been awhile since I updated on this. I pulled this out and worked on it this past weekend. Wine turned out wonderful, great taste and versatile, I sweetened a gallon with Welches Concord concentrate, bottled a few dry and still have 3 gallons to decide what I want to do with. I would not...

    Trimming new vines

With all the rain we have been getting some of my vines will reach the bottom wire even with leaving it bush out. My vines are grafted on 101-14 rootstock. I was just out yesterday actually pinching off forming grape clusters. Since I'm not in a hurry to get grapes at the expense of poor vine...

    Trimming new vines

Thanks I thought I read that somewhere before but then I got looking at vsp training and it showed 1 fine the first year but letting it bush out make more sense

    Trimming new vines

I planted in May and my vines are doing great, not one failed to leaf out. However some of them have 3-4 shoots coming off the head, should I trim them down to 1 this first year and let a second one grow in next year or keep two shoots? I have 32 resiling and plan on a vsp setup.

    Double A juice

I think they have to label it that way since it is not pasteurized and per fda standards cannot be labeled as safe to drink. I tasted a little when I was prepping it and didn't even taste heavily sulfited. However deeming as toxic is a little extreme and I think they could have found a better...

    Double A juice

The juice is bubbling along nicely. It has a wonderful aroma and was packed nicely and was even on some skin material so this seems like a good kit thus far. This is my first all juice kit so I'm looking forward to the outcome.
