    Blackcurrant Wine

    I have just completed a batch of medium/sweet blackcurrant wine made with blackcurrants frozen from my garden. I followed Dangerous Dave's Dragon's blood recipe and I must say I am very pleased with the results. Just putting it out there that blackcurrants are very easy to grow and make a good wine.

    Thanks Bergmann, I added the sorbate as it was still bubbling and so it did not restart if I sweetened it (although it was probably at the tolerance of the yeast.) As it is I have added a sweet juice concentrate, racked and will leave it for a couple of months before doing anything else. It...

    I just stabilized our first batches of parsnip and carrot wines. We used a recipe from John Wright's book "Booze" in the River cottage series. We had intended to make sweet wines so started with a high OG (1.120 if I recall.) We went away for March break and well - kind of forgot about them...

    Hello all, I've been lurking around this forum for a few days now and thought it was time to say hello. We (the wife and I) are new to wine making but have dived right in with a "wine expert" tempranillo kit which is clearing for bottling at the minute, and some smaller amounts of country wines...
