Thanks Joe and Appleman for your comments. I live in Michigan and get my grapes both locally (Niagara and Concord) and from California (Merlot, Cab Sauvignon, Sauv Blanc). The problem seems to occur more often with the reds (only once with Chardonnay). Wolf
