Cellar Craft Cellar Craft Premium Shiraz starting sg

Have a Cellar Craft Premium Shiraz kit degassing right now after racking after fermentation. Does anyone know the recommended starting SG for this kit? The instructions don't seem to say unlike most of the other kits we have done (this is kit #47 for us). We are fermenting everything to dry in...

RJ Spagnols Cru Select Shiraz Viognier + oak cubes

We love our local RJS dealer (we just bought 5 more kits from him, 2 En Primeur, 1 Celler Classic, 1 GCI, 1 orchard breezin) and he is nothing but helpful and no-pressure. I do like this type of wine and typically spend 18-20$ on a bottle when buying it from a store and hope this kit comes close.

RJ Spagnols Cru Select Shiraz Viognier + oak cubes

Thanks, the instructions didn't have any details and I haven't added oak in cubes to any kit up to this point.

RJ Spagnols Cru Select Shiraz Viognier + oak cubes

Has anybody done this kit and if so, when did they add the oak cubes and for how long? The kit comes with a huge package of oak shavings and a package of hungarian oak cubes and no mention of cubes in the instructions. Are they best put in during clearing?

I was looking online at instructions and wondered if they were saving a step for the rushy-rushy crowd or they had a method to the differences in the instructions...

RJ Spagnols Difference in primary/secondary procedures

I found a previous thread that also talked a bit about this. Would there be any issues moving it to a carboy with an airlock after a week and when SG dropped even though the instructions say 14 days in primary?

RJ Spagnols Difference in primary/secondary procedures

I have noticed that the instructions given on the RJS website vary between 14 days in the primary (eg. cru select) to 6ish days in the primary and 20 or so days in the secondary (eg. en primeur). I have started a couple of cru internationals, which are a week in primary and 20 days in secondary...
