    What's for Dinner?

We don't have a lot of fast food options where we live so that alone makes it easy (to skip) and basically forces you to learn how to cook anything and everything the family likes. I am always on the prowl for WooHoo (quick sale) priced items at our local grocery store. Santa fe (30 mins away)...

    What's for Dinner?

I agree. Higher quality meat most of the time more expensive than Kroger (our local option) but sometimes the same price if you catch it on sale.

Wine does not last long once opened

Depends on the tannin. They make both pre and post fermentation tannin products.

Wine does not last long once opened

Could be SO2 levels or just the fact that cold hardy hybrids don't have a whole lot of tannin which also helps like SO2. I always add tannin to my CHH wines so they will age longer. The next time you open a bottle and are not going to finish it same day, try pouring half into a split (375ml)...

    What's new in your cellar?

Costco find from the other day........ If you see this in the wild it punches way above its $12.99 price tag.

    What's new in your cellar?

Spring allocation from Toil which is O&O by Chris Figgins in WA State. This project is all OR grown fruit. For the 1st time they offered up a mixed 6 pack with 2ea of their Estate wines (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Rose' of Pinot). Perfect sample allocation for me! :db

Free SO2 by Aeration / Oxidation

Morewine is still showing $120 for a liter (plus shipping) of 25% Phosphoric and it now shows "discontinued" so who knows if you can even order it from them. The kit they sell only comes with about 30mls IIRC. Enough to run 4-5 test I think but the kit works great and their online videos are...

Free SO2 by Aeration / Oxidation

I have posted quite a few threads here on the Morewine A/O kit a bought years ago and just how well it works. You do need to calibrate your eye to the color change endpoint but once that is done your good to go and numbers are very repeatable. While the Morewine kit is currently OOS it should...

    Wine Analyzers (Vinmetrica, sentia, etc.)

I think I missed this thread somehow and didn't see any mention of what I use for SO2 testing (cheap turnkey setup) and that is the one sold my MoreWine: https://morewinemaking.com/products/economy-aerationoxidation-free-so2-test-kit.html If your NOT using barrels (only glass carboys, etc) to...
