made pee per lons web recipe and worked well,i get a lot of juices lemon lime minute maid in a food co op and without a startrer it was dead when i put a fresh slurry it took off,so the slurry shre does help;:br:br
not to hi jack your thread but my 30 gallon batch strawberry is the most active ive fermented.i used djrockinsteve recipie for a port ,taste good in ferment so may know in a few days.

thanks i understand .i have been having a chamber or a mason jar with a in and out between the vacum pump and the wine usally as i was degassing but omittedso the first batch of pee was half ruined.thanks:slp
went on and filtered the pee and my filter clogged up so i stopped my vacucum pump and it puked some oil in the clear pee. well a beautiful gold.so got half of it contaminated...the filter works great but i messed it up...thanks for the replys.
thanksgiving eve i bottled 35 bottles of pinot noir kit. minus 2 bottles of test wine put it under my house with my head ache thumping i hope this would be ok just dont wont to loose it would i be better off to put i n a fridge:gn

my first batch in the carbouy is not clearing.. iused a scuppernong slurry havent tried it yet and degassed. also added fruit pectin. bought a filter system will this help?it looks like consentrate.
need to add my 2 cents on this on ,i picked some 3 weeks ago and were orange .half were too green they were firm.. old folks said put em in a paper bag or a bag of corn meal to ripen. they turned out great.

well we are in the bible belt and people still think making wine is the devils work and jesus made the wine without alcohol. also catholic brothers and sisters drink beer under the church in the base ment and the pope ...well you get the drift... they think im distilling
