    Syrah/Primitivo Big Day

Hi Drew, After a lot of experimenting with oak adjuncts, we've found that Stavin Oak Cubes work the best in our IntelliTanks®. The sticks get "stuck" and like with barrels are really hard to get out. The cubes just float out when you clean out the tank. They come sealed in a foil bag so you...

    ph Testing

I had the Milwaukee 102 and thought it was a piece of junk. Could never get it to calibrate reliably, it took forever to stabilize a reading and almost never matched up to my trusty Hanna Checker. The manuf. sent me three different probes and I sent the hand held unit back to them twice to have...

    Anyone have their own vineyard?

We don't get much poison ivy out here, but I do have to keep after the Himalayan Blackberries. I've found that Brush-Be-Gone works the best, but don't get it on the leaves of the grapes. Round-up is a popular herbicide used under grapevines in a vineyard as well, again use care to keep it off...

    Anyone have their own vineyard?

Good to see you on the boards, since WP went down... I started a Bonsai pinot noir just a few days ago. Got a great container that was supposed to be a grape themed casserole but cracked during the last firing. I'm excited to see it "take root." Cheers.

    is MLF necessary?

You'll find that MLF is advantageous on nearly every red wine and Chardonnay (if you like the "buttery" mouth feel in Chardonnay) as opposed to crispy citric taste for Chard. The "greenness" in reds is oftentimes considered a fault, and mlf will oftentimes make a big difference. Cheers!
