    Buying new vines

Have you contacted any winery/vineyards in your local area? They might be planting some or know of someone who is or at least be able to direct you to someone they trust and have had good experience purchasing vines from. Just my 2 cents.

    And so it begins....

That is fantastic and you are being smart about it. Do you have the varieties picked out you are planning on planting? Word of advice. Get a soil test done before you settle on a piece of land. It is easier to find a new plot then amend poor soil.

Champlain Valley - Grapemans' vineyard - Planting to small winery

Everything looks spectacular!!! I am glad you post the info for your trial - I look everyday to see if there is more. There is one thing I have a question about and I think I have re-read almost every post looking for it and must have missed it - I am suspecting. What is your vine and...

Willsboro NY Cold Hardy Grape Variety Trial

Your "Not Ravat" sounds interesting. Even though you haven't any idea as to what it actually is - do you have any info on how much cold it actually will take? Rich, if you have time can you post a picture of it? Do you have flavor / aroma info you can post? Obscure grape varietals...

    Hill House Vineyard

That is quite the fence - if you where in Wyoming I'd say it was to keep out the buffalos. :) Lots of hard work that is for sure - but it looks great. Just out of curiousity - is the fence for coyotes and badgers? I just read an article on how destructive they can be.

    Kennell Estates Vineyard & Winery

    Vine Issues - Please HELP!!!

well i have no worries this year as to when I should stop spraying - there won't be any harvest. Next year will be the year to watch my timelines. I think Manzate states that you shouldn't use after bloom - does that sound about right? I looked at my shelf of chemicals last night and have...

    Vine Issues - Please HELP!!!

You are right Al, I haven't sprayed anything as of yet, because I was trying to do plenty of research on the topic (must have missed the life cycle info though-oops).I guess I was trying to over diagnos the problem instead fof just trying something. Nor have I gottena soil test. It has been...
