    I took a sg reading it is 998. I also sampled it smells and tastes much better it has been two weeks know the fermentation has stoped. It is strawberry wine and I use redstar wine yeast. The recipe came out of a book that came with the kit I bought. I don't have it with me but I will post it...

    It smells like a mild vinegar and has some sediment floating at the top. It will bubble good at first but kinda fizzles out at day 4. I use a glass primary same as always with a clean cloth and a rubber band.

    I have tried twice to make wine from fresh fruit that start off very well in the primary but seem to go bad before I rack into the secondary.(5 days in pimary) All the equipment has been cleaned and sterilised.     welches grape juice wade I didn't use bentonite in the recipe. The first two kits that I made did use bentonine in them and they cleared within 2 weeks. There was pectin enzyem in the recipe. It is kept in the basment which is about 55 degrees. So I guess I wait another 30 days and see what...

    I have made 3 gal. of welchs grape juice wine. how long will it normally take to clear? It is only 30 days old tastes great but still a little cloudy. the guy at the brew shop said to add sparkloid when I degassed he said it would help in the clearing. just kinda wondering what to expect.

    hello

    Thats pretty funny cause the kit was a xmas gift for my wife cause she wanted a new hobby but she didn't really get into it. But I helped her with it and I'm the one who got hooked on it. She is still intrested which finds my new found hobby in her good graces.:)

    apple cranberry

    I do have a recipe for apple juice wine. I guess I should use that as a guide line to follow. That recipe calls for two cans of juice but I think your right 3cans sounds better.

    My wife wants me to try to make some apple cranberry wine. I haven't found a recipe for this. I would like to use frozen juice from the store has anyone tried this? If so how did it turn out?

    I started my first batch in Jan. it was from a kit it turned out great so far. So i have started a new batch from frozen grape juice and that is going great. Now I am hooked. :) I am so glad I found this site I have so much more to learn. My wife wants me to try apple cranberry from frozen...
