I started some Corn Wine on Feb 20th so it has been working for 10 days. I didn't have my hydro when I started it but I took a SG reading yesterday and it read 1.00. It is still in my 1 gallon primary as I was following this recipe http://winemaking.jackkeller.net/reques44.asp it says stir...
Tomorrow is day 21. I am planning racking into a clean carboy and adding a campden tab and k sorbate. I tried the wine yesterday and it had a good taste but not sweet enough for me and definitely forth fiancée. I ordered a auto siphon and a hydrometer that will be in tomorrow also. What should...
My first gallon batch of wine has about one week left in the secondary. I am planning on racking in a new carboy in a week and plan on adding campden and potassium sorbate. I just ordered Sparkolloid to add to it also when I rack it. Can I add all these at the same time? And also do I need to...
Yes I followed the recipe. How will I know when its done fermenting? The day I racked while it was still in the primary, a bubble was coming thru airlock about every 55 sec. Now I haven't seen one. I've watched over a min. I think I'm going to give it another week and a half just to be sure.
Have a quick question. My wine has been fermenting for about 8 days. I just racked from my plastic primary to a glass gallon carboy. When it was finished the top of the liquid in the carboy comes to the bottom of the handle. I will try to attach a pic. Will this be ok or can I or do I need to...
I made a gallon batch of this on Tuesday night. I have it in a 2 gallon plastic bucket as my primary. As in the recipe I put the lid on the bucket and put the drilled rubber stopper in the lid and attached the airlock. Then I read all the pages of this post and read one that someone said that it...
Yes it's more for the novelty. I am a History teacher and the prohibition era and all is one of my favorite periods, so I love the mason jar look. But idiot want my wine to go bad. Would storing in a one gallon glass carboy or 750ml liquor bottles work. I know that the screw caps wouldn't be air...
How much would JD would you add you gallon of corn wine?
The recipe that I found called for cracked corn. Would using corn on the cob create a better taste?
This is the email that I got.
"Yes, as long as the wine is stabilized (potassium sorbate and campden tablets will do that) before you put it in the jars, and then seal them well. You should keep the jars out of direct sunlight as well."

After I make a few batches of wine I am going to attempt to make some corn wine. I know that you can flavor wine with oak chips. So my question is can I add some Jack Daniel wood chips that are meant for smoking in part of the wine for a few weeks to flavor it? They say they are made from real...

I was told by the company in New York, who I was going to buy a kit from at first but from the one I got for cheaper and they told me that if I bought the potassium sorbate and put it in my wine right before I put in mason jars I would not have to worry about the wine oxidizing. Did they...
This is the kit that I bought. Plus I ordered another gallon carboy, rubber stopper, airlock, 100 more campden tablets, and potassium sorbate from another company in New York.
