    WineXpert Wildberry Shiraz

    Earl- same as Masta I made it with 5 pounds granulated sugar. Add the sugar to 10 cups water and bring to a boil. Allow to cool and use this as part of your water addition to the kit juice. It will give you about 1.090 SG for a final alcohol around 12-13% Edited by: garyd

    WineXpert Adding sugar to increase alcohol

    Does everyone mix the sugar with water and heat before adding? I just added the sugar to my last kit, and it seemed to ferment ok like that, from 1.090 to .995 on a White Merlot WE Kit.
