I just racked my secondary fermentation off the sediment, out of the carboy, and back into the prime ferm bucket. My question is should I rack back into the carboy immediately and top off or can I leave it in the bucket for a while? All I have is a 6 gallon carboy and bucket, nothing smaller.

I don't think you're paranoid. and I'm not trying to unearth any illegal activities. I'm just new to this world of wine and eventually want to get into the distribution business. In the end I think we all do it for pleasure, but only few cn do it for profit.

Johnt, It's personal preference. I think topping off with another wine is best, but people do top off with water so you can't disagree with that.
