    Mulberry stem question

Ok, I used a wine press and got 1-1/4 gallons of pure undiluted mulberry juice. It did a good job actually. The juice was really thick and I believe will make a fine wine. Time will tell. Thanks to everyone for your input!

    Green Onion Blackberry wine?

UPDATE! The blackberry wine is awesome after aging it some more. A friend of mine said the green onion taste/smell was from the strain of yeast that I used ( Red Star Premium Cuvee ). It went away and has made a fine wine. Thanks for the replies!

    Hello from Florida panhandle!

Here ya go! Guapo Topic: Jelly Palm Wine Posted: January 01 2010 at 10:26pm Newbie here. I can't seem to find a recipe for Jelly Palm Wine. There are lots of "Jelly" recipe's online, but none for wine. So, I decided to wing it. Last fall I picked some fruits from my palm tree. I would...

    Mulberry stem question

I have 17 lbs of frozen Mulberries that are thawing for a 3 gal batch of wine. There are stems on all the berries that I really don't want to remove. I have heard that one may crush the berries with a wine press http://www.finevinewines.com/p-478-5517.aspx and not have to remove the stems. I do...

    Jelly Palm Wine

JELLY PALM UPDATE! Today I chilled two bottles of Jelly Palm wine (Recipe Above) that I thought was to be poured out, due to the pungent aroma that it had. It is FABULOUS!!!! I am thrilled to find it to be a very good wine (In my humble opinion) This was bottled on Feb. 15, 2010 and today is...

    Jelly Palm Wine

Hey Brenda! My jelly palm wine is aging. It had a great taste, but a foul odor after-taste (bad breath) we will let it age another 3 to 6 months before we try it again. I'm sure it will get better.

    Green Onion Blackberry wine?

I really don't think I have a spoilage problem. The wine would be great ( and is according to friends who like onions) If it didn't have that taste. The blackberry seems fine, just perhaps tainted somewhere along the way with wild or green onions. I would be interested to see if anyone else who...

    Green Onion Blackberry wine?

I will not pour it out, but will wait for a few months and try it again. Wade, yes I followed the instructions on the can. I've had very good luck with all the VH fruits before. I've made, Cherry (twice), elderberry (twice), black currant, and now Blackberry. All were very good until now.

    Green Onion Blackberry wine?

I bought two cans of Vintners Harvest Blackberry and made six gallons of wine. During racking, I kept smelling an odor, like B.O. After checking myself, I determined that it was coming from the wine. Before bottling I found the wine to be thin bodied, so off to Sam's Club for some blackberries...

    Mulberry Wine

I suppose one could use nail clippers or scissors to clip the stems off. I say this because I don't have a steam juicer and I am about to inherit 18 lbs (+/-) of purple mulberries. I am really looking forward to trying this one along with my dewberries</font>.
