You are sooooo correct. The first batch I ever made, still have a few bottles, was not degassed enough. I have since added the drill bit degaser and what a difference!! Just made the Finer Wine Zinf and I degassed and degassed and degassed!!!

Going to use Argon Gas until bottling. Decided not to use marbles. Read too many bad incidents, chipping breaking and even can have lead. Anyone ever use Argon Gas, wine bottle spray. If so how much do you spray and how often??

I filled as I normally do, normally add a bit less water. Then added the 2 skin bags. I have the normal headspace but for this wine I don’t want to add more commercial wine. Will follow with a picture.

Have you ever done this? I’m about to. I assume it will work and take up the head space. I have a lot of space as I had 2 skin bags in my Finer Wine kit. Purchased 6 pounds of glass marbles on Amazon.

You think 4 weeks is ok to sit in the bucket? I was just going to do 2 but would do longer if you think we would get a better result.

Received my Zinfandel kit yesterday with the double skins. Was shipped cold and delivered via Fed Ex. Had to move some stuff around in the extra fridge as it does take up an entire shelf. Will start the kit one day this week and report back. Anyone else start one of the Finer Wine kits yet?
