Cellar Craft Kenridge California Grand Red 2013

I think that's accurate for mine too. This is only the second kit I've done and by far the best. Hope it's not downhill from here!

Cellar Craft Kenridge California Grand Red 2013

Thanks, that makes total sense then. Mine is probably skirting the border between dry and off dry at .995. Regardless, it is a fantastic wine. Gets better with every glass.

Cellar Craft Kenridge California Grand Red 2013

Anyone drinking this wine? I uncorked my first bottle after 2 yrs, and it's really nice, just not nearly as dry as expected. I took mine to .995 SG, but it still seems almost off dry. Wondering if anyone else had similar results? Again...Fantastic wine...just not as dry as I would expect.

    Wine storage in Florida?

Certainly an idea, just depends how many bedrooms our eventual house would have. I have two kids and then we'd want a guest bedroom, so extra rooms will be in short supply. Maybe I could find a place with a den.

    Wine storage in Florida?

That's kind of the route I was thinking. Hate to pony up $2k for one, but might be the case.

    Wine storage in Florida?

I actually have one of these, but use it as you described for my lagering and cold storage beer chest. Mine will hold a few carboys or 5 cornies. Maybe I have too many hobbies! My real concern is less the fermentation of the wine and more how I will store 150+ bottles in a warm climate with...

    Wine storage in Florida?

Looks like there's the possibility I may be transferred to FL next year (Tampa area) and am already thinking about how it will affect my winemaking! Here in MO it routinely is in the mid/upper 90s with high humidity Jun-Sept, but I have a basement storage area that keeps even at the hottest...

Cellar Craft Old wine kits, what should I replace?

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like my EC-1118 yeast are expired, my RC-212 expire 6/2015. My whites are a Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, so no sweetening.

Cellar Craft Old wine kits, what should I replace?

Life comes at you fast and our 2 yr old coupled with a newborn put me on hiatus just as I was getting heavy into winemaking. Soooo...now I have 4 old wine kits 2 white (Cellarcraft Showcase) 2 red (Spagnols RQ) that are anywhere from 18months to 28 months old from mfg date. Am I hosed? I took...

Cellar Craft Italian Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon LR

I'm starting to feel like "you had me at 2.6L grape pack". =)

Cellar Craft Italian Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon LR

I did the KR North Coast Grand Red and loved the "presentation" so much (sounds same as the Sangiovese Cabernet) that I ordered that kit too. Just had to get another 2.6L super grape pack!

    Top up or leave alone?

    Thanks! I appreciate the advice.

    Top up or leave alone?

Did my first kit about 6 days ago, The KR California Grand Red. Today I racked to secondary at 1.010 on the hydrometer and came up about 1.75L short in the 6g Better Bottle. Come to find out, my original measurements were off and I marked my 10g primary about (coincidence) 1.75L too low...
