    Is it worth me making a simple must on a couple Litre of grape juice, with no water, and once fermented out, blend that with the bulk? Or not worth the bother, and just finish what I have.

    I realise that now ...my fault and an old recipe book. That is why I added in the can of wine concentrate which was supposed to be made up to a gal l with water, plus the 2L of pure grape. juice. Not perfect, but trying to recover something from this. A light weight Rose would do.

    It's a long time since I made any wine ... 20 yrs+ but thought I'd blown the dust off the demijohn's and have a go. I followed a recipe - and since been told current practise has changed and I should not have added water ... but too late for that. 20Lb of stalked clean grapes 2 Lit grape...

    It is possible my pH meter is not giving correct reading ... it does read 7 on water .... but I don't have any known pH source to test it's calibration. I tried it on a bottle of white vinegar .. and it reads 6 Thisis stated as 5% acidity ... but don't know waht reading I should get.

    My sister has 2 well established vines .... red wine grapes .... been unable to identify what they are. Been told most likely Black Hamburgh - but can't be sure. The Q is my sister wants rid of these ... she cuts them well back each year. Currently planted in her unheated and pretty...

    28Lb of grapes from one vine picked yesterday ... now turned into a must. Certainly sharp taste to them.

    I used to keep Bees ... so if you buy direct from local beekeeper it will be much cheaper ... cheaper still if he puts in in a big jar ... individual 1Lb jars are expensive to buy. You can also buy honey of a particular type ... e.g apple blossom, or what I found best for Mead 'Heather Honey'...
