    My other wine press

Not really... I found the old dried out wood, at least in my case, really soaked in the mineral spirits and while I didn't douse the wood in solvent, a rag in spirits cleaned and conditioned the wood in one step. Left to dry overnight before applying any wax, I doubt enoughsolvent would be left...

    My other wine press

I had a few cracks in the wooden base plate that would have leaked, so I actually used some wood filler which I then sanded down, but if I had any chips or splinteringwood, yes, I'd sandthose too. I think I might have cleaned the saw dust off with mineral spirits prior to waxing. I also...

    oak barrels

Glad to find this contact! I have been very hesitant to buy the smaller oak barrels I've found elsewhere on the web, but this company looks like they know what they're doing and I appreciate the recommendations. The winery/vineyard where I buy grapes is VineHeart in Prosser. They are great people who are great coaches too for...

    Hello from Washington

Thanks for the welcomes! I can take credit for taking the photo, and scavanging the blue bottles, but the label design was by the groom. He's a graphic designer by trade so he enjoyed it and had a printer he works with print themon peel back stock.

    Hello from Washington

Hi All, New to the forum and relatively new to making wine. The picture above shows the bottle of my first solo grape wine attempt. A Riesling from Yakima Valley Washington that we made for our daughter's wedding. We're fortunate to live near the vineyards, so we picked the grapes with the...
