    Just wondering if anyone had any experience with these? Is it just like using a concentrated grape juice, but with more potential being from a wine grape?

    No I'm looking for a fruit wine. I understand the results of a kit can be great, but I really feel like I'm missing something with a kit, plus I'm trying to do one gallon batches right now. Do they make kits for one gallon batches?

    My welchs wine is quite bitter

    Thanks guys for your replies, it's definatly not vinegar so thats good. I'll see how it tastes at each stage. In the meantime I can read up on sweetening to taste.

    Hello from RI

    Well right now I have the Ancient Orange mead going, and I just put welch's white grape into a secondary. I really would like to start a sweet wine. Any suggestions? Also I'm curious about elderberries(sp?) I've heard they are the closest thing to grapes? Is that true?

    My welchs wine is quite bitter

    I chose a welch's recipe to start with, and today I racked it into a secondary. It fermented in a primary, only covered with a cloth, for 7 days, I tasted it and it was really bitter, will this get better? The SG was about 1.100 and now reads 1.000. I think that sounds about right? Should I...
