Hooooooo Boy!!!

Just checked the wine under "Your Critique Please". It's gonna be some "kickass" wine, in all respects I think. ABV is 'bout 12% and the sample tasted great. Racked and put back under airlock. I think it's gonna be a winner. John

    Stoppers?

Actually, these are "new ones". Now, where do I go to find something usable? John

    Stoppers?

I can't remember where I ordered them from, (old age?), but the rubber stoppers drilled for air locks that I have are giving off a STRONG rubber odor/taste. I soaked them in a campden solution before use to sterilize, but I've got some otherwise very good wines that are picking up this godawful...

    Hadda Move My Fermentation Room

Was using my closet...perfect temp..dark....then my wife decided to find out why the pups were scratchin' at the closet door. One sniff and she decided now she knew why my clothes smelled funny. Now I've been moved to my bathroom....I get no respect!!

    Your Critique Please

<DIV =postcolor id=post-344389>Yep, I'm still a newbie, but I'm one of these folks who like to try new things. My first few batches turned out well, using tried and true recipies. Now I got an idea to combine some recipes/ingredients for a wine that sounds good to me for a semi-dry social wine...

    Corker Problem

I have the same corker and have no problem. I put my corks in a bit of warm water with 1 campden tablet just before use, then place the bottle between my feet to hold steady, place the corker and give it a steady plunge. So far every bottle has been perfect. I would not consider spending the...

    Greetings All

Well, we have seen most of it, but don't get tired of seein' more. I've also lived in NM, AZ, and LA, but this is home. A cabin at PK? Great!! Maybe we'll get a chance for the wife and I to share abottle with you and yours. John

    Greetings All

Welcome, Rick. I'm a newbie also and appreciate the fact that folks on this site are not "wine snobs". At my age I'm not tryin' to make a vintage product, but rather nice wines that my wife and I enjoy...not something for my kids to drink when I'm gone. Lots of information and nice folks here...

    Label

Here's the label for the apple/raspberry. Family and friends who know us appreciate our love for and the humorwe see in our dogs. The original photo was of True playing with the water hose....and a bit of humor on our part.....

    Removing Old Labels?

I'm sure this has been discussed, but as a newbie I'm gonna ask. What's the easiest way to remove labels from wine bottles? I have friends and family saving their bottles for me so I can recycle them and fill with my homemade wines. (I know they're wanting a bottle or two in return..LOL) Right...

    Hello Again...

Hi, Waldo!! Here's the base recipe I was thinkin' of. 'Course I'm an experimenter and hardly ever follow instructions for anything..LOL..so I'm sure I'll be tweakin' this or that. Any suggestions? John
Ingredients:

12 cups blueberries
12 cups water
1/2 cup...
