I completed the VR Cab in April and noticed a thinness and tartness as well. Just opened a bottle last week and it tastes much better. Feels fuller, tastes rounder. Very pronounced oak flavor, but I feel like it may temper a bit after another 6 mos.

No f-pack in the kit. Probably too low end to have that included. I will have to try a higher end riesling kit with an f-pack and see if it makes a difference.

I know, didnt see the price for the pro until after I posted. Even the entry level model is $250. Kinda like my $1.50 airlock and other cheap tools...

Thanks for posting spaniel. I am on the list for easley, but they were quoting me above $100 per bucket. Kinda nice to have a reason for a weekend getaway and when you're getting 5+ buckets it justifies the trip, well...... For me anyways.
