    First White Wine

cobbler, Probably can't go wrong with MM Ren Pinot Grigio or Pinot Bianco. Both are "crisp" and "clean" on the palate. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Grapes are for the birds...scratch that..baboons

Has someone spoken with the baboons and told them the benefits of waiting until the grapes are turned into wine! I'm sure they would appreciate it more.

You can buy glycerin at any drug store. I use it to "thicken up" my Kaluha. Good luck with your wine and welcome to the forum.

    Mosti Mondiale Vinefera Noble Barolo

Had a bottle of VN Barolo today (Easter) which was bottled 4/4/98. I must say (no pun intended) that the aroma and the flavor of the wine really impressed me! I love this hobby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cellar Craft Cellar Craft Instructions lacking detail!

As Waldo says, it is a matter of preference to seal or just cover. The important thing is to keep critters out of your must (flies, ladybugs, etc.) Just follow the instructions and continue to ask questions and just relax and enjoy the hobby. In 6 months to 1 year you will really appreciate it!

Mosti Mondiale First Kit stopped cookin' at 36 hrs!

I would have to agree with appleman and bottle per kit directions so you can taste the fruits of your labors earlier. I have been making wine for only about 14 months and am nowlearning to be more patient. It's not that easy, but tasting something that has aged a bit longer is worth it. Hmm...

NK, Isn't it just great the speed and quality of the responses that you get? This truly is a wonderful forum. I was very nervous when I made my first batch and if it wasn't for helpful people like them I would have gotten ulcers and probably found a new hobby. Just follow thekit instructions...

    Can I bottle?

Except for the usual 1/2 bottle I always end up with at the end of a bottling session I plan to let sit for 8 more months at least (I hope). Thank you all for your input.

    Can I bottle?

Is the Kmeta I added on day 105 sufficient or should I add a bit more?

    Can I bottle?

I started a MM Fresh Varietal Juice on 18 Oct 08. Since I started it has been racked twice, oaked, racked again and on Day 105 I added 1/4 tsp of Kmeta. It is now Day 140 and I want to know if I can bottle since I am in need of a Carboy very soon.

    Greetings from NC

ASAI, Welcome to the forum. This is a very contagious site! I got into the hobby wanting to make maybe 2-3 batches of wine per year. In the 1 year I have been a member I have made 12! It seems everytime I go onto the forum I read posts and say to myself "UM, that sounds good" or "I think I...

    Hello from Albany, NY

Appleman, No, I work in Albany for a Home Infusion Company and help set up patients who are being discharged from AMCH, St. Peter's (in Albany) and Ellis Hospital (Schenectady) who need IV therapy in the home. The only thing I do in Howes Cave, NY is try to make a lot of wine!
