    Making wine from table grapes.

I let the juice with the grape skins during the whole fermentation. The skins was going on the top of the must, and I put them down one time every day, maybe it wasn't enough. I also wonder about the maturity of the grapes. I read the maturity of these varieties was around august 20, and I...

    Making wine from table grapes.

I finally found grapes that are said both for table and wine. The white variety is Danlas, and I don't remember the name of the red variety. I bottled the wine after 2 months, and tasted it. The both wines lack of flavor, but it is a lot better than the wine I made from supermarket grape juice...

    Making wine from table grapes.

Thanks for advices. So I think I will make 3 experiments from the table grapes: - with red grapes - with white grapes - with red grapes and other fruits, to enhance the flavor I'm curious to know the taste of the wine made with only table grapes and sugar. I hope it will be better than the...

    Making wine from table grapes.

Hi, I'm going to try to make wine from table grapes, because where I live I can't find wine grapes. I think I can find the following varieties: - Italia (white) - Muscat (red) - Chasselas (white) So I was wondering if someone has already tested to make wine with a table grapes variety. And I...

    Strong taste of alcohol.

I didn't use any sulfites. To keep the wine from spoiling, I bet on a good sanitation and on pasteurized grape juice. I will see how it evolues, and if I need sulfites for my next tries. Thanks, I didn't think about it. For my next tries, I think to add a lot of sugar before the fermentation...

    Strong taste of alcohol.

I didn't, but i think to add a lot more dried grapes to my next try, in order to increase the sugar. Yes, I will taste it regularly to see how it evolues.

    12 days without airlock.

Thanks. I was worrying about my wine. I'll think about buying one. I'm using a "vinometer" to know the degree of alcohol, but it isn't as precise as an hydrometer.

    Strong taste of alcohol.

Thanks for replies. The wine is old, it was bottled 9 months ago and I don't have gravity mesurement tools. I used a "vinometer" to have the degree of alcohol and compared it with the computed degree from the sugar content of the juice. The sugar content allow a maximum of 9.5 degree, so i think...

    Strong taste of alcohol.

I made wine from supermarket grape juice. I got a dark rosé wine with an alcohol degree of only 9. But it have a strong taste of alcohol. Why my wine have this taste ? Is it due to the yeast strain ? I use an uncommon belgian wine yeast because it is hard to find lalvin yeasts in Europa. Is...

    12 days without airlock.

Hi, I made wine in a large bottleneck demi-john, but the cork stopper I have isn't hermetic. So it will stay 12 days with this stopper until I will receive my new demi-john with hermetic stopper. I'am on day 10, and the fermentation seems to have ended. Is it possible a fermentation to be so...
