    the strawberry was pressed and moved to secondary on 6/6/09 and racked a month later.never stabalized.the mint was pressed and moved to secondary on 6/30/09.today i'm going to taste them. if that goes ok i'll add campden tablets to stabalize them.

    ok i racked it. the s.g. is .99 smells great.but it tastes a little bitter.we added some sugar to our sample and it helped a bit. tastes a little weak in flavor for some reason.is this due to the distilled water?will it get stronger? and how much sugar should i add? thanx again.it definately...

    i used 1 campden tablet per gallon in the recipe.the wine is very clear.i'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row ahead of time.when i rack it i'll check the gravity.

    ok guys were coming up on a month in the secondary here. my next question is: when i rack the wine is it time to clear and stabalize it? and what chemicals do i need to do that? thanx.

    ok moved to secondary.this is the first i checked the s.g. sinse i added the water.i know i should have. but i was dealing with a 4 letter word i hate --WORK. anyhoo s.g. is .998 seems a bit low.but i havent checked it for a week.its a brewin though.:D

    ok worked a really long day. and i wanted to save the wine from being too strong. so i added 1 galon of water and sprinkled the yeast on. too tired to check the gravity tonight.hopefully this saves it. its really an experiment anyway.

    ok the new project is spearmint wine. recipe is 1qt mint leaves,3 lbs sugar,1 gal water,1 campden tablet,1tsp yeast nutrient,1/2 tsp pectic enzymes,1gram wine yeast.times 3 on the recipe. sp.g.is 1.102 but water was warm.i'll recheck it be4 i put in the yeast. hopefully i don't become too...
