Is prune juice by itself make a good wine...Or is it better using it as an ingredient to give dark friuts wines more body whilefermenting.

I have a gallon batch of peach wine.I have fined it with superclear and sorbated it & k-meta.I did it this 3-months ago.Now I want to backsweeten & bottle it.Do i have to sorbated it againafter i backseweeten it before i bottle it.

Oh .yeah I already put them in the freezer.

Well I am in Pasadena ,Texas....But,I will ckeck on them because I did see other bushes that still had unripen friut....I only picked what looks like a couple of pounds......

Cracked Cork thank you for the pos.I.D. on the elderberries.I will try to get as much of the tiny red stems the berries are attached too.And use your tip on how to clean up the goo thats left behind.....

I will have to pick more, Appleman in order to make 5-gal..There were more elderberries but they were not ripen.How much longerwill these berries still be available in the wild.what are their growing season time frame.

well its not a mustang grape comparing the image northern winos has posted.I believe I canmake a gallon for sure from the elderberries.I appleman I am in pasadena,texas.I may wait till I canpick more of the elderberries before i start a batch,5-gal.would be the same work,old wino.Hi...

I didn't pick any of the grapes because of a time frame I had..So I zeroed on the elderberries.With that 5-gallon bucket which is 3/4 filled,will that make at least a gallon or two of elderberry wine...yes i would be picking only the ripe fruit.Looks like some are ripen while others aren't.

Here are tie pics i promised of the vine fruit and what we already I.D.as being wild elderberry bushes.I went hunting for the elderberry bush and found alot of bushes.now I have found me a wild elderberry source.the other grapes not yet for sure if they are mustang grapes still researching..

thanks appleman.I'll be going to work shortly so on the way if not after i willstop & pick some..I have been doing a serch for native wild berries for texas..I think the others may be mustang grapes....

will do wade...........going back tomarrow to if there is enough elderberries to pick to make a gallon batch..........
