    Calculating ABV

Wow I was expecting more. Maybe I'll use 2 or 3.

    Calculating ABV

Last year I made two 6 gallon batches of soda coolers. 22 liters of your favorite soda and a liter of your favorite vodka. Recarbonated in a corny and bottled. I want to make a stronger batch. I have a 750ml bottle of 190 proof Everclear, and plan to mix that with 22 liters of pineapple...

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Icewine Style

Just bottled this up last night. Added the shrink caps and labels today. Kinda wish I hadn't been sampling, only got 22 375ml bottles from the original 12liter batch. Next time it'll be a double batch!

Yeah after brewing beer for a few years I was amazed how much this wine changed with 6 months of aging. Please post when you bottle yours and get the bottles lookin all fancy. I'll be making a double batch next time (hopefully soon).

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Icewine Style

Just bottled another liter while I wait for my fancy bottles to arrive. Is it just me or does the "burn" of the higher alcohol fade after a while? It's been about 6 months bulk aging this, and seems that almost all the burning feeling of the alcohol has mellowed out, it's getting better all...

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Icewine Style

Just an update to this. I've racked it a few times and bottled maybe a liter of this. It's a great wine! Very happy with it. I'm planning to make this again soon, but I'll do a double batch next time. If you have the patience I suggest not filtering. I haven't filtered and it's crystal clear...

I'll see how it's cleared when I get back in 3 weeks, maybe I'll skip filtering

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Icewine Style

I racked this into another carboy again a few weeks ago. I had to rob 2oz to taste during racking. It's great. I'm thinking about filtering and bottling this in a month. Is there any issues with bottling this wine? I know it's pretty thick lol.

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Icewine Style

I'll try to hold out as long as I can. Its going to be a special occasion wine for us. There's an old root cellar at my grandfathers property, I'm think about taking a case of it and poking them into the cellar. Would make it difficult to get to for just a bottle. I'll leave the other 5-6...

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Icewine Style

Wow that does look good! I'm hoping to let this age for at least 6 months. Hopefully it's good. I'm actually trying to get into wines because I've been making beer for a year now and my girl was never a fan of the hobby (or beer), but she gave me approval to make the table wines for our...

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Icewine Style

A picture would be nice! It's 18 months old and still in carboy? When do you plan on drinking it? When I racked to secondary I added the F-pack and topped back up with the liter I had removed. Me and my mother shared (I set this wine going at my parents house while I move into my house) what was...

    RJ Spagnols Riesling Icewine Style

I'm in the middle of an RJS Reisling Ice Wine kit. I've done everything as per instructions and it's been in secondary now for two weeks. I plan on bulk aging this for 4-6 months before bottling. Should I add anything else? When it clears should I rack it again or is it safe to keep in secondary...

    Lime/pineapple Coolers

I don't think taste will be off much. Lst batch. Used 16 liters of soda, and 7 liters of homemade alcohol and my friends loved it. So if I used 21-22 liters of pop, and 1-2 liters of Everclear I don't think the taste will be off, can someone give me an alcohol % on what this would be?

    WineXpert Ice wine toooooo sweet

I bought a bottle of ice wine when I proposed to my fiancée, it was the only wine I'd ever tasted that I enjoyed, and my girl loved it, so I've wanted to make it ever since.

    Lime/pineapple Coolers

I've made some "coolers" in the past. I used homemade "liquer" around 20% alcohol. Just mix 16 liters of Lime Crush or Pineapple Crush soft drink with 7 liters of the homemade alcohol to make 23 liters. Recarbonate in a corny keg and bottle! I'm all out of the homemade alcohol and don't plan to...
