Private Reserve Veneto Amarone Wine Kit

In 2016, I made wine from WE Amarone style kit, it didn't turn out as good as the store Amarone, I can say, is okay. A real Italian Amarone is a blend of few grape varietals, I don't think the WE kit is made of those real grapes, that's the reason is called Amarone style kit.

    Wine Pump

Looks it's suitable for chemical dosing, for sure it can be used as a transfer pump too.

What wine kit would you suggest?

I have not tried WE Pinot noir yet, it's about two years old, overall I found the home made kit wines in terms of fruity smell and aroma strong , but honestly I don't see the rich characteristics and bold taste in none of WE kits. That's the reason I decided to switch from making kits to real...

What wine kit would you suggest?

It's a personal preference; a couple of years ago I made wine from one of Winexpert kits called Eclipse -Sonoma county Pinot Noir. Anyone who tried the Pinot noir even once, knows that the Pinot noir color is light ruby, looks like raspberry, but the Winexpert finished wine was quite dark ruby...

    Wine Pump

Wondering if there is a specific make & model of peristaltic pump that is suitable for home wine making? Thx

RJ Spagnols RJS EP Super Tuscan

I understand, you add the the grapes skins directly to the juice without a bag for more soaking ,contact and extraction. Thx

Sorry, what do you mean by " I have stopped using the mesh bag and pressing the skins to get the juice out"

    Wine Pump

It's totally correct, you may need to have both; a vacuum pump is a great tool for degassing, transferring wine from one carboy to another one and filtering your wine. All-in-one or Enolmatic is good for bottling your finished wine.

RJ Spagnols RJS EP Super Tuscan

I made this kit a couple of years ago, as far as I remember, this kit like many kits, comes with 2 liters of wet grapes skins. If at the end of primary fermentation, the straining bag removed and pressed the juice of the bag into the fermenter, you should not lose any liquid, unless the...

What wine kit would you suggest?

I made few RJS kits, few years ago; Australian Shiraz and Cab Sav, Spain Grenache,& Tempranillo and Chile Carmenere, they are okay, for sure much better than Winexpert kits.

What wine kit would you suggest?

I found the RJS kits slightly better than Winexpert kits, honestly I made 15-18 batches of red wine from Winexpert premium kits in 3-4 years, realized all of the kits are identical, guessing the kit manufacturer put them in a box with different label. Since then I stopped making any wine from...

    Wine Pump

There is another brand called Enolmatic, when I used to make wine from kits, I bought it for bottling . It's a great tool for bottling, last of couple of years I have not used the bottle filler pump, because I stopped making wine from kits, as i didn't enjoy the taste and overall quality.

    Adding Raisins

Once the fermentation is over, adding some raisin to your stabilized wine should not improve the wine body, but for sure lend some sweetness to your wine. Assuming you already added the potassium sorbate to your stabilized wine, otherwise the fermentation may restart.

    New Winexpert Kits

I agree with some comments above. I made about 20 batches of red wine in three years from the Winexperts / Cellar Craft premium kits. On average every year about 7-8 kits with different variety; Malbec, Stagg's Leaf Merlot, Barossa Valley Shiraz, Lodi Cab Sav, Pinot Noir, etc. In 2019 I stopped...

So you insist on drinking your kit wine early . . .

I love red wine, a while ago I started to make red wine from kits as hobby. I made 23 batches of red wine in three years from Winexperts kits, Cellar Craft, RJS, every year about 7-8 kits with different grapes variety; Malbec, Stagg's Leaf Merlot, Barossa Valley Shiraz, Lodi Cab Sav, ...., but...
