    I just started this one as well... I was in primary for only 8 days! SG was at .994 on the 8th day. Moved it to secondary and added the enzyme (and air locked it).     Foam while filtering

    It is not uncommon for a little foam (or bubbles) to generate with the Vinbrite Filter as the wine cascades into the carboy. However it should dissipate after a while. Are the bubbles small or large?

    If you press just right around the edge on the universal you can usually get a vacuum. I had the same problem. It's a bit of a finesse thing...

    I have been racking down to 5 gallon carboys and use 1/2 gallon carboys for the residual. That way I don't have to top up.
