    Out of the blue meeting

Dan: </span> It was really eerie meeting you like that, we almost got together at Presque Isle Winery a few weeks ago also, both there the same day purchasing juice. Don't they say that great minds travel in the same circle?? I did enjoy talking to you about wine making, hoping to get some...

    Fresh Concord & Niagara Juice

Set up my my buckets, added the sugar, 2 1/2 tsp yeast nutrient, 5 tsp pectic enzyme &amp; 1/2 tsp potassium metabisulfite. Following different recommendations from assorted recipes. Looking for the end result to be a medium sweet wine for all. Stirred well &amp; let sit for a while, took SG...

    Fresh Concord & Niagara Juice

Dan: Juice is very active this morning, getting my buckets set-up. Have to improvise a bit, they really filled my carrying containers to the top. Looks like about 3-4 gal more of juice than I counted for, but that's a good thing! Will feed the sugar, mix well &amp; get the process started...

    Fresh Concord & Niagara Juice

Planning that for the morning... Been looking at too many different recipes that are all slightly different for the same juice. Do you add any benonite at the start?

Dan: We .had heavy rain all the way up, got there around noon, had a nice lunch at the restaurant they have. Juice was still ice cold when I got home. Got to keep the wife out of the store, she was buying Xmas gifts already for the kids!! Bought 15 lbs sugar &amp; some Welches Juice tonight...

    Fresh Concord & Niagara Juice

Just came back from Presque Isle Winery with 12 gal of fresh Niagara &amp; 6 gal of Concord Juice. They are currently pressing it. Have a few recipes all slightly different for making a semi-sweet wine. Some call for diluting the juice a bit with water. Some call for adding a bit of Welches...

    www.mywinerecipes.com

From what I recall she did have a lot of recipes on her site, its too bad that we have to contend with this aggravation from these different slim balls. I was looking forward to some recipes from different members. Its that time of the year to pick up different wines juices from various farms...

    WATER BOTTLES

I think they work great for transporting fresh Apple juice or grape juice to make wine with. I have a few 5 gal water bottles that I fill when buying the juice &amp; seal them with plastic wrap. There is less of a chance of it spilling. I agree with the others as not to use them in place of a...

    WineXpert Blackberry Port

Has anyone made the Peach Ice wine &amp; could give a review? Love the flavor of Chocolate Raspberry Port. We prefer the sweeter wines so may order both the blackberry &amp; peach. Al

    Nice Score On Wine Bottles

I have heard that before.... The neck does look a lot thinner but so far so good!! Maybe I have been lucky, but I am extra careful when inserting corks in the screw tops.

    Nice Score On Wine Bottles

My church saves me the wine bottles they use for mass. I get approx 2 cases a month. They have the screw top lids but they seem to work fine with corks &amp; have not had any issues using them. What I like best is the labels just fall off in warm water, no scrapping or anything.

5 Gal water jugs as transportation device

I recently picked up 4 of the plastic 5 gal water jugs. Not planning to use them as carboys but think they would make a great container to hold fresh grape juice for transportation from a winery to home. I live in Pittsburgh &amp; the Erie area is only a couple hours away. Would like to try the...

Apple wine close to being finished

My Apple wine started in Sept from fresh juice from a local farm is crystal clear &amp; may be ready to bottling soon. Will filter it later also prior to bottling. I'm not a dry wine person &amp; would like it a bit sweeter. Thinking about a couple cans of frozen concentrate or bottled apple...

    Hello from Pittsburgh Pa

If any one is interested in some of those free 1 gal jugs, I found them on Craigs list, Pittsburgh with a search of wine making. Place is located in Beaver Falls Pa about an hour north of Pittsburgh. They still had about a pallet left of boxes with 4 to a box. As I said before they just wanted...
