Used to do quite a few kits. Now use the grapes and fruit out of our orchard. Doesn't make much but it is enough. I would like to get into the kits again in the future. In particular the whites. They just seem to turn out so much better than the red kits I have tried.
We has planted a few grape vines many years ago. My wife did make grape jelly from the grapes for years but finally got tired of that. So we started trying to make wine. The grapes we have are nothing fancy probably concord or a variety like that that is very cold hardy.
We have also planted...
Congrats! That is one good sized baby. My Son and Daughter in law had their first baby on August 5th. Unfortunately 2 months early and only 2 pounds and 5 ounces. He is doing great and hope he puts on some weight so we can get him home.
bottled some WE sangria and LE reisling/chenin blanc. That LE is really light on flavor. Not bad but really subtle. I think I left it in the carboy way to long. Wife likes it so I guess all is good.
I enjoy making wine. I like turning grapes or other fruit into an adult beverage, and some times it actually tastes rather good. I would say that I enjoy the process of making wine a little bit more than drinking the wine, but that is slowly changing.
