    "Advertise" another business on label?

I have friends that want to pay me for my wine. I always tell them I cannot sell it or except ANY kind of donation. I think the law also covers the, "Buy the glass, I give you a bottle of wine" loophole as well. But I had a thought. I own an Etsy shop. Amongst other things, I sell Wine related...

    Other Tweeking Cheap Kits

It turned out really good! I couldn't find any Cayenne Peppers but I did find some Red Hot Chili Peppers and threw those in (about 10). I learned some lessons along the way but after about 3 weeks, it turned out amazing. It has just the right amount of Sweet and Heat. Another really nice things...

    Other Tweeking Cheap Kits

You do make a great point. I can see this being the case if you add a cheap wine that doesn't taste all that great, but I have always added a "Like" wine that I actually like. So any change that may be affected by adding it, I have always had a good outcome. Maybe I've been lucky 🤷‍♂️.

    Other Tweeking Cheap Kits

I am thinking about splitting a batch of Blueberry Pinot Noir (a Sweet WinExpert Island Mist) and add 3 fresh Red Hot Chili Peppers to 3 Gallons and let it set 3-5 days... Anyone have an experience or thoughts on this?

WineXpert HELP!!! WineXpert Argentine Malbec -- Forgot to add Oak Chips during primary Fermentation

Question on this topic... Does putting the chips in a cheesecloth bag reduce any of the benefit the wine may get or does it need the direct contact? I just hate the mess it leaves behind and have been it in small cheesecloth bags and then dunking it in during the primary fermentation. The...

    Other Semi-sweet Red suggestion

I am starting a Merlot Kit and got the crazy idea of back sweetening it. I started looking around and found a lot of different ideas to sweeten a red wine and some where just using Grape juice... So then I thought, would it be best to use the same type of Juice that the wine is made from to...

    Other Bulk aging

@winemaker81 1. Is K-Meta the same thing as Potassium Metabisulphite or Potassium Sorbate? 2. Do you dissolve it in water or wine or just add it directly to the wine in it's powders form?

@winemaker81 Thanks so much for all of this, I am learning a lot. This forum and it's members are Great! I do have another question, but I will search to see what I can find and if not, start a new thread rather than hijacking this one. Thanks again.

@Swedeman - Nope, not a typo. More like a "Noob-O" I assumed that's what it meant on the ingredients, but I see there is a "," after yeast and it says "emulsifier (E491)". So I guess there are no unique identifiers for this yeast, so I have no clue what it is. But thank you for pointing this out.

@winemaker81 I did Mostly what you suggested because I didn't see your post until just now... 1. Dissolved the Bentonite in 8 Cups Hot water 2. Added the Fontana Merlot Concentrate (1.4 US Gal) 3. Added 3 Cups Simple Syrup (2-1 ratio recipe) 4. Filled the bucket to the 6 Gal mark. 5. Stirred...

I already made the Simple Syrup. So what I plan on doing as soon as my new kit comes in... 1. Take the SG with the Kit and water just under 5 Gal mark in the bucket. 2. Add 3 Cups of the Simply Syrup which was made using the 2 to 1 method. 3. Add the water to the 6 Gal Mark. 4. Cross my fingers...

@Huba Huba I Love the calculator. So I think this tells me exactly how much sugar I would need in 1 gal of water if I want to pre-dissolve it then fill my bucket up to the 6 gal Mark. Correct?

    Other Tweeking Cheap Kits

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I tried searching and couldn't find an answer, and there may not be a direct answer, but I am hoping you can at least get me started. I have purchased a few of the ABC Crafted Series 6 gal kits and compared to the WinExpert kits the ABV is 2-4% lower as I'm...

Has anyone else had issues with the tip leaking? I have tried adjusting the pressure, but it continues to leak.
