    Maple Mead!

Strawberry banana juicy juice!!! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] It actually turned out to be some VERY good wine!!! I racked it about 6 times and then let it sit for about 3 weeks bottled. Very smooth and STRONG!!! [emoji6]

    Maple Mead!

i need to keep a journal!!! This wine tastes freaking AMAZING!!! Just the right amount of dryness, alcohol, EVERYTHING! It's literally just a mixture of all the wines I made left over from bottling. Just the extra. I poured into one huge jar, racked a few times, then bottled. It's been sitting...

    Maple Mead!

It's an auto siphon. Think I'll just use my mouth next time, the pumping made a huge mess and did not work very well ... [emoji27]

    Maple Mead!

Oh I definitely will!!! I just tried to siphon my wine for racking and it was my first time using a siphon to rack. It was a complete MESS! I now have wine all over my kitchen, a lot of wine wasted, and the siphon thing sucks, no pun intended ... In a bad way! What the heck? I thought siphoning...

    Maple Mead!

It's 100% real maple syrup grade B. And I used Dady distillers yeast.

    Maple Mead!

I forgot to add that there was honey in it as well. My SG was only 12% so I added sugar to increase that. The last SG reading was 20% after adding the sugar. It smelled wonderful this morning and the yeast are going insane!!!!!!! I'm excited for the end result. Just a little experimentation...

    Maple Mead!

Has anyone here ever made a maple mead??? I'm experimenting! Tonight I started a batch, a small one, just one quart. I added maple syrup, sugar, clove, and cinnamon along with my yeast. I'm curious as to how it will turn out!!!!!!!!!!!!! [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51]

    Confused

Well the muscadine wine turned out GREAT! 2 glasses and I'm feeling it pretty GOOD!!!!! Even the hubs said it was "the bomb!" And he hates wine!

    Confused

If it were me, I would add a couple more cans of concentrate! But I'm new to this as well ..... Lol!

    Confused

Yes that was definitely confusing!!! Lol. I think I'll just stick to taste testing. [emoji57] I'll test with the hydrometer and just leave it at that! Haha!!! The more complicated I make the process, the more I will screw it up!

    Confused

I added .5 cup honey and put it back under ferment after racking. Should I just pull it and be done?
  18. ethanhaven25

    Confused

Idk lol! I didn't get the hydrometer until AFTER I started fermenting! But I did an entire 750ml bottle of post muscadine grape juice, 1.5 cups honey, and 1tsp activated Brewers yeast. I added some nutrient from boiling raisins in a little juice when I added the sugar. That was it!
