    Tell me about Ice Beers

That's pretty interesting. Being new to all of this, I never knew that yu could get a licensed homebrew kit from any of the major breweries. Things are pretty hectic here in Vegas right now and I feel like I've go hundreds of irons in the fire. Once things settle down a bit, I'll have more...

    Tell me about Ice Beers

Intresting. I wonder if the "icing" process changes the flavor at all? I saw that my baby above is now being brewed in the US in my hometown! Genesee Brewing Co. which is now called something else since they were purchased. Next trip "home" I'm going to leave the seneca lake vinyards for a day...

    Tell me about Ice Beers

Okay all you brew meisters... I've got a question for you! I'm not a huge fan of all the micro brews. Maybe it's just my inexperienced pallet, but I just did a pub tour of Portland and I gotta say I did not like most of what I had. Most were too hoppy or bitter. While you true beer...

    Greetings from Arizona

I've never heard of this. Can you give a brief description? I'm also a fan of music... What type of music is featured? About 6 years ago discovered a fondness for urban/contemporary smooth jazz. It's got a "funk" type feel to it! Being Vegas, I get to see many of the "big" names in this genre...

    Greetings from Arizona

Oh, very interesting! Did they publish this info anywhere on the web that you know of? The Sanoran desert is quite a bit different from the Mohave desert, but there's got to be some cross over. Thanks for the info! VegasScott

What do you do with all your wine?

I started doing it this way, and it worked great. I started with the "grounds for gardeners" from starbucks and my lawn clippings, supplemented with kitchen scraps and POOF! COMPOST! ;) While this does require you to water and turn the bucket with a shovel, it does work. Since my garden beds...

What do you do with all your wine?

I didn't mean for this thread to get off topic from "what do you do with all your wine" to "used plastic buckets" so I'll fill you in why I asked. My daughter is a competitive fastpitch softball pitcher. We have to practice all the time. The buckets are used for holding practice balls and...

What do you do with all your wine?

It was their soaps. I used mine for a composter... Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic... I sawed off the lid and drilled a ton of holes in it. It seems to work well for me. VegasScott

What do you do with all your wine?

Corntassel, Not that you'd need something this large, but you can get free 50 gallon plastic drums from your local carwashes. I did it a couple of years ago to make a composter for my gardening projects. I'll keep it small for now. ;) VegasScott

What department at sams and costco do you go to ask for buckets? VegasScott

Wine making is a great hobby but...

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned going on winery tours! ;) Thats what ultimately got me hooked into wanting to give wine making a whorl. I also am an avid gardener. While some look at gardening as back breaking work, it is my stress release. With a bumper crop of grapes last year, I had to...

What do you do with all your wine?

I've been reading the wine making guide that Wade put up on here. Obviously, home winemaking is just as it implies... For home use only When the author refers to the home winemaker vinting batches of wine in 50 gallon drums or 36 gallon garbage cans, i've gotta ask: "What the heck does...

Geeze! Didn't mean to get anybody's pantys in a ruffle! :) Nobody was advocating making moonshine. We were making reference to the popular TV show on the Discovery Channel as a joke. Please have a sense of humor! The show is actually quite good and shows the outlaws as well as Virginia ABC...

    Book for Beginners

Steve, I totally agree. I don't like being told "add this to that..." and "do this to that" without knowing why I'm doing what I'm doing. I'm a self proclaimed science geek and want to know "WHY". As for the kits, I'm looking at some of the kits from amazon that are just equipment and no...

    Vinting in Vegas?

Its a damn shame what has happened to kodak. As an avid photographer, kodak missed the digital revolution while fuji and canon embraced it. I shoot with canon cameras, and I have to hunt to find a place that offers kodak processing for my digital prints. I usually pay more for kodak, I don't...

    Vinting in Vegas?

It was called Laser Source, Inc. At first we were an independent service center for digital imaging products. After my second year, I earned the Authorised Reseller and Service Center for HP. Growing up there, everyone's parents worked for Xerox, Kodak, or Baush and Lomb. ;) Its not the...

    Book for Beginners

Steve, Have you read any of these books? I'm a newbie that has the 'drinking' part down, I'm now looking to 'making'! I've been a beer guy since college, but over the past few years I've become a 'winer' due to my love for gardening and the fact that my in-laws have a beautiful home on...

Sweat deal! Were you making wines prior to joining this forum? It looks like you've had a good bit of success in a relatively short period of time. I'm thinking I'm going to order a couple of books to get started, and then order my equipment. In my area, Pomegranates grow really well. I'm...
