I'm still chuckling after reading this post. No septic tank book or anything close. It was a reloading book (Lymans 48th Edition). Should make for an bang up wine if anything. After reading the responses so far, I'm feeling better and looking forward to enjoying this wine.

Thanks...That is encouraging. Then it is possible that I do not have to drink it all before it has aged properly as it may not be ruined. I did give it a taste test and was quite pleased.

What a stupid mistake. While racking my wine (WE Eclipse Kit Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel) By accident I knocked a book off the table which landed into the bucket I was racking to. I immediately pulled the book out of the wine and hopefully have not contaminated the wine. This was in the last stage...

Good suggestion, I will follow your advise and pick up some 375 ml bottles for use in the future. to late for this batch but I did sample a bit before tossing out the excess. Based on the sample, I think I have a great wine in the making. Will be a challenge to wait for it to age properly.
