    Today's Groupon I recieved:

Fyi! So I did in fact buy this Groupon and had my brother purchase one as well (he brews beer regularly). Both of the credit cards used to purchase these got compromised immediately after we went through Groupon. I currently have a e-mail into Groupon about their security practices with...

    Today's Groupon I recieved:

The zip is 12211 -Albany NY (Capital District). Tom posted it. It is for an equipment kit (in case you need some beginner stuff or extra equipment, some beer kits, and a coupon for another beer kit. For $60 I don't think you can go wrong. I bought mine just now!

    Today's Groupon I recieved:

Well it doesn't want to post here correctly but it is 50% off at Midwest Supplies for a specific kit. May be worth the 60 bucks to pick up some new supplies! If I could figure out how to post it I would be all set.

    Best addition to S.P.

-I also have one today too..I doubt it was the MIO alone thought :)

    Best addition to S.P.

Griff- I would highly reccommend it....people went from tasting my pee (haha) saying that it was really good but they could only drink a glass of it to literally consuming bottles and bottles of it. I am going to start 6 more gallons right away!

    Best addition to S.P.

So my first batch of S.P. came out great. However some people were saying it was a little bitter for their taste. I am always reading posts on here about sweetening or making different flavors. Introduce Mio. I saw a commercial for this stuff and had originally picked it up to give water...

Cleaning Equipment...dish soap and no rinse?

Thanks for all the replies...I just wasnt sure what Oxi-clean everyone was going with. I think I found the right one and have used it to clean everything in preparation of some green apple riesling! The yeast will then become a green apple skeeter pee!

Cleaning Equipment...dish soap and no rinse?

Thanks! I do rinse it all off, but I think it may be adding a small taste note I have noticed in the few successful batches I have made so far. Is there a dish soap you would reccommend or use yourself?

Cleaning Equipment...dish soap and no rinse?

I had a question regarding sanitation. I have been using a dish detergent (grapefruit scented) that I have been using to scrub and clean and rinse all equipment before using. I will then fill the remaining sink bay with no rinse sanitizer and sanitize everything. The question is will...

    First Skeeter Pee Attempt

This is the current state...as you can see from one picture to the other this has cleared significantly but is still very dark. This picture was also taken at night....I will try and get a better one at the next step!

    First Skeeter Pee Attempt

I did indeed. I tried to follow the recipe as closely as possible. Since I am new to winemaking i had originally thought "slurry" meant the yeast slurry plus about .5 liters of the cabernet I had been making. Therefore, it did turn out pretty red. It cleared up very nicely and is clear, but...

    First Skeeter Pee Attempt

New Question Alright I am almost to the backsweeten steps of the recipe...very excited and it has really cleared over the last two weeks. The final step is to add 6 cups of sugar and wait two weeks to be sure no new fermentation begins. Have people used non-fermentable sugars to avoid...

    First Skeeter Pee Attempt

Hahah....It is funny you mention that. As I used a cabernet slurry and the batch during racking was coming through the tubing as a vivid magenta color, the girlfriend exclaimed that it should be called P.P. I was puzzled at first, then realized she meant Pink Pee.....I like PP..
