Any experience with Automatic Bottle fillers?

I have been looking at the automatic shut off bottle fillers by Buon Vino and Farrari. Has anyone used these? I would like to get more consistant in my fill levels and this looks like a good way to achieve that. I have been just tapping it off from a spigoted brew bucket till now.

How do you store clean bottles?

Saran Wrap & rubber bands After cleaning and sterilizing I store mine with a small bit of saran wrap over the top and a rubber band around the neck, it works for me, I only have a couple cases to deal with at a time though... I just pop it off and give a quick rinse with sterilizer right before...

Other Anyone Familiar with Kits from www.williamsbrewing.com?

Thanks for the feedback, I was thinking it might be OK for a 3 gallon batch but don't want to risk it if the canned concentrates generally don't come out as good. I have had 1 Great batch (Riesling Ice)and 1 good batch (Pinot Nior) so far (rushed the red a little...) Still learning.... Johann

    Cleared overnight! What Next?

It's all shook up and only a little stuck to the glass and settled out again ... I have another 2 1/2 weeks before I will probably bottle it. Thanks everyone!

    Historical methods

Wine history - Corks Cork has been used as a closure for wine and other liquids since the Egyptians. However, European use of cork was not wide spread until the 1600s, when a French monk called Dom Pérignon substituted cork for the traditional european closure. Containers holding sparkling wine...

    Historical methods

Wine and Grapes - History Funny you should ask that question.... I am interested in historical winemaking and have copied some of my notes below... The history of wine and grapes is closely intertwined because Grapes are the perfect fruit for winemaking. They will ferment into wine if...

    Cleared overnight! What Next?

I'll give it a twist :) I will give it a twist and see what shakes loose. As for taste, my wife wanted to lick the glass...and she doesn't normally like whites. I have to go buy bottle, corks and a corker before I can bottle anyway, I was just shocked it cleared so beautifully and so...

    Cleared overnight! What Next?

I was wondering how soon I can bottle. I am making a kit and reached the "Stabilizing and Clearing" step. The wine cleared to the point I can read through the carboy overnight! Other than clearing, what is being accomplished by letting the wine sit in the carboy at this stage? Kit...
