THE STORY: The winery originated by chance. When the farm was built by Irina and Jesper in 2002,
The apple orchard with 3000 trees was planted in 2003, but 1000 trees went out due to attacks by hares, which in 2010 were replaced by vines on the recommendation of winemaker Lars Holt from Næstved.
In 2015, we had our first red wine ready based on the harvest of 2013, produced according to the same principles as when making Amarone wine where the grapes are dried.
We have planted approx. 15,000 vines. However, we only harvest from approx. 5000, as they should preferably be 4-5 years old before they are ready for harvest. So in the first years, we cut away all the bunches of grapes so that the plants have peace to grow big and strong, so that we ensure the quality of our wines in the long term. Here we produce wines according to the principle rather a little but good!
Vines are divided into the varieties SOLARIS, RONDO, BOLERO, CASTEL, LEON MILLOT, CALANDRO, CABERNET CORTIS and REGENT. They are all used for white wine, rosé and red wine as well as sparkling wines.
The winery is run exclusively by the family and with the help of volunteers. In 2015, we opened the farm shop.
We produce approx. 5000 bottles of organic wine in total. The entire production is sold exclusively from the farm shop mostly to guests who come in groups for vineyard visits with a tour and wine tasting. We have totally sold out year after year, guests are even registered for the next vintages that are on stock in oak casks in the wine cellar. The winery has won the best prizes and awards in a very short time, i.a. as Denmark's best winery. Most recently silver and gold medals in major international competition in Germany with participation from 30 countries and over 2000 wineries from around the world.
