    Just curious

    I am also a commercial winery in WV. We are small at about 1000 cases per year, but we're growing rapidly. I get about half my grapes from within WV, and the rest fro NY and CA.

    Early beginnings...

    I made four whites from juice, Seyval Blanc, Vidal Blanc, Riesling and Chardonel. I bottled each of them as pure varietals. For one of my reds, I made a Bordeaux style blend using Cabernet Sauv., Cabernet Franc, Merlot and a hybrid called Noiret. It is quite good. The other red was a 50/50...

    We are making about 5000 bottles of wine this year and I have a 40 liter bladder press. I think your 300 liter model will be more than enough.

    Federal Government shutdown impacts on wine industry

    On the subject of licensing for those of you still struggling with that, we just finished the process for our winery in WV. We actually used a law firm in VA that specializes in TTB compliance to get us through the process. It took us 2 1/2 months but was fairly straightforward with the law...
