I have added all the ingredients in step 1. my SG is not 1.085. It is 1.140. What am I doing wrong. Why do you think it would be so high. I have checked and double checked all ingredients are in as stated. New to making from scratch wine. Hope I get past the first step.

I have not ventured out to make a fruit wine from scratch. I typically have done kits in the past. I have a peach wine I am ready to try. My question is for the peaches can I use canned peaches from the grocery isle or should I buy peaches from the brew store?

I have a friend that would like to make couple kits with me. She is asking me to find out what is a good red somewhere being a Merlot and Cabernet that is not to dry and not sweet. Does anyone have any suggestions of kits. Something from the Selection Originals maybe?
